Alabama Bans Importation of Mississippi Deer Carcasses, USNews, Feb 13, 2018Alabama’s conservation department is banning the importation of deer carcasses from Mississippi to stop the spread of disease. A statement released Tuesday says a 4-year-old buck found dead in Mississippi in January tested positive for Chronic Wasting Disease. The neurological disease affects deer, elk and moose and is always fatal.

Police forced to euthanize injured deer inside Tractor Supply, The Outlook, Jan 25, 2018Witnesses said the deer appeared to be injured with a broken leg and was bleeding heavily. They said the deer had limped across the parking from Highway 280 with a leg just dangling. Employees called the Alexander City Police Department who responded quickly. When they arrived they learned that after roaming the store for a little, the injured deer laid down near the front under some lawnmowers to take a rest. The Alexander City Police Department they were able to safely euthanize the deer and put him out of his pain.
